        Trek is head and shoulders above any other TeeVee show in terms
of internal consistency.  Only Trek fans are obsessibve enough to pay
that much attention.  You won't see these sorts of dicussions about
"Friends".
        I may be wrong, here.  There is still "Starsky and Hutch" Fan
Fiction being written...
        The fact is that GR was not as uptight about these things as
hard core fandom (Including me.)  I think that a balanced point of view
will allow for the possibility that getting the show on the air and
keeping the production on schedule might take precidence in the mind of
a non-fan over getting the "Nit-picky" deteails correct, even if one
does not agree with that point of view.
