Actually there are two different versions of the song, both by Alabama 3. I
believe the one used as the theme song of the Sopranos uses "I" instead of
"you". Both versions have nothing to do with mobsters btw.
The original - the "you" one - started out to be a tribute to Howlin' Wolf but
was later changed to honour(?) a abused wife who murdered her husband ... or at
least that is what I heard the author claim in an interview. He was surprised
at the success of the Sopranos theme song given that it has nothing to do with
gansters. Go figure eh?
