Hi,

I have got a problem installing ArcServe IT in a mixed NW5/NW4.11
environment. Since i am not really
an NDS wiz, i would appreciate your help :)

The problem seems to be related to the NDS replica
process/model/whatever :) .

When installing Arcserve IT 6.6 from a workstation, the setup program
exits after displaying an error
that the "ARCSERVE_BACKUP_SERVER" queue could not be created.

I tried isolating the server Arcserve shall be installed to, and then it
worked, but after re-connecting
the server to the rest of the network, some really strange things
happened to the NDS, particularly to
the Netware Licensing Services. At the same time, the installed copy of
ArcServe stopped working
and complained about a "invalid license file". Perhaps this is because
of the screwed-up NLS ?

By manually deleting some "strange" NDS objects and issuing a few runs
of DSREPAIR, i managed
to return the network to a usable state. But now i have no ArcServe
:((((

All Servers in the network are equipped with the latest patches, all
workstations use the latest CLIENT32.
(Win9x).

Does anyone have any idea ? Please feel free to mail me for more info,
since I don't really know what
one must know for assisting me in resolving this problem.

Thanks in advance !

PS: It would really be nice if you would reply by mail, since i don't
read news on a regular base.
A CC would also do, of course :))
