TW> --- TW> X SLMR 2.1a X Typo Tom Strkes Again Yep, still almost always straight pipes here and you bet a hog can make a lot of noise, even WAY out in the field, chortle! Back in the 1960-1965 or so years I rode a bike because it was the best way to keep from going broke buying gasoline for my 1952 Chevy coupe with a Dual quad 4-barrel Chevy FI Corvette engine in it, grin! And I'll almost bet that I am the only person you woule likely meet that has ridden a BMW R60 so hard full throttle so many hours that I even wore it out so bad that it locked the engine with full oil still in the crankcase! For example, I rode it from Lordsburg, New Mexico to Bryan, Texas one night in 11 hours and thirty minutes. As well as over and over from Houston Hobby Airport to College Station, Texas in about an hour or so, grin. That was before they had radar guns, grin. The engine, roller bearings and all, lasted just over 85,000 miles this way for Mikey Dog.... Well as you know part of the reason one could do that was that the BMW bikes all had real good mufflers. They were VERY quiet even full throttle when you would be lying down flat on the buddy seat with the throttle jammed wide open and your head just peeked up squinting over the handle bars. It never quit amazing me that all my friends were riding hogs. And time after time the cops would wham them and give them tickets, but never even heard where I had gone when this sort of drag race romped off. Chuckle.
