What version of Qmodem? I'm really only familiar with Qmodem for DOS.
In the version that I have, you hit ALT N to bring up the setup menu,
then select the MODEM COMMANDS pull down menu under Modem, and there you
can make any changes to the init string necessary. If you want to try
setting an S register, you might try adding S37=15 to the the init
string. This will tell the modem to initially attempt a connect
starting at a lower speed (24,000 bit/s). This may produce more
reliable results, and if the line conditions allow it, the modem can
still retrain up to a higher carrier speed. (This S register setting
is going to be different for different models of ACCURA).
