FS> I don't care for most of _Fugazi_ at all, but interestingly "She
FS> Cameleon" is one of the only songs on it I *do* like...
Really? What about "Assassing" and "Jigsaw"? Those weren't
 discussed earlier.
FS> "Just For The Record" is nothing special, but I see nothing wrong with
FS> it. I don't like "Cinderella Search" much, either. In fact, except
FS> for "Grendel" (which I have to admit to loving!) and "Tux On,"
FS> _B'Sides Themselves_ is pretty much a bust. Oh, I like "Three Boats
FS> Down From The Candy" as well, but those three are it.
I *love* "Lady Nina", and yes, "Three Boats" and "Tux on" are
great. I wouldn't say I love "Grendel" but I do like it...
FS> Favorite songs, hmm... "Script For A Jester's Tear" and "The Web" are
FS> their most "prog rock" sounding, and among my favorites. I have a
They are more proggy than most of their other stuff, yes, but I
find "The Web" to be a little weak, at least compared to "Script".
FS> hard time picking anything from _Misplaced Childhood_, as it's so much
FS> just one continuous song. I don't have any specific favorite there.
Yeah, it is difficult. I'd say I have more favorite "moments" than
complete songs. Perhaps my favorite moment on the album is the
"...room of dancing shadows where all the heartache disappears, and
from the glowing tongues of candles, I heard her whisper in my
ear..." bit, and the closing section of Side 1, "...but you're
feelin' like a wino in a parking lot...".
FS> From _Clutching..._ I'd probably pick "That Time Of The Night (The
FS> Short Straw)" as my favorite. There are a few other special ones, but
FS> I'd have to go listen to it right now to figure out which song is
FS> which, especially among the last few. "White Russian" is good, but
FS> seems to be missing a little something.
Yes, I like "White Russian", but it's not even comparable to most
of that album, the trio of songs that open the album are
incredible, as is "Going Under" (depending on what format you own
the album on), "The Last Straw", "Sugar Mice" and "Slainte Mhath"
(I saw a license plate the other day that said "slainte")... oh
yeah, and "Torch song" is excellent.
FS> My absolute *favorite* Marillion song is without Fish: "The Space..."
 FS> I *LOVE* that song!!!
 Yikes! No comment... :)
