Actually it sits under the bladder and the urethra passes through it.  The
plumbing from the testicles passes through it too.

Not all of it.  The prostate furnishes the bulk of the fluid in semen.
I used to have one, in 1995 it was surgically removed because it was
cancerous.

I was not quite 51 at the time of the surgery.  If you're of that approximate
age get thyself tested annually.  By the time the cancer exhibits symptoms
it has probably already metastasized.  Mine was caught early and pretty much
by accident.
