subject: master boot record

Hello Rod!

Remember when my hard disk was stuffed you told me to do an "fdisk
/mbr"? Well I have found a book (from David Begley), which tells me
about the master boot record, and it has the partition information in it.
How come you made it sound like "fdisk /mbr" was an innocuous
command? It sounds like it will wipe out all my partitioning information
and I'll lose all my data! So next time I put the disk in with the
connector upside-down, I'll lose my MBR, and I can't use fdisk /mbr to save
me. Is that correct? BFN.

Paul
