If you are referring to the "dials" themselves, (clear plastic discs 
with numbers screened on them,) someone recently described using the 
"almost clear" discs found on the top and bottom of CD-ROM 25 or 50 
packs.  I believe he scanned and then printed the numbers on a clear 
adhesive label and affixed it to the disk.  Minor modifications had to 
be done to the center hub area, but certainly sounded like a pretty good 
approach to an all too common problem.

Otherwise, you're limited to the elusive "junker unit" sources.
