ME> I have a Airtronics rival rv2p transmitter and recently it hasn't
ME> been getting hardly any range at all for buggy racing. I tried getting
ME> new crystals and that didn't help and also I got batteries and it
Checklist to find radio problems:
3 Caps on motor
All metal to metal screws tight
Good brushes on motor (little or no arcing)
SHORT as possible power (battery and motor) leads
ESC as far from receiver as possible
Does it have the problem with all batteries?
Steering servo undamaged
Reciever antenna wire is correct length and does not cross over
itself. Compare to other recievers of same make, and on same
band. NEVER cut an antenna wire!
If all else fails, have transmitter tested for output and tuning.
9 of 10 times, it's the problems above relating to the MOTOR.
Good luck.
ME> does anyone know about how much a set of titanium turnbuckles with
ME> matching ball ends would cost (about)? Thanks!
Titanium rods go from about $18 for a buggy to about $24 for most
trucks. Ball CUPS (don't reuse the old ones! ) are $3.50-$4.00 per
pkg. Ball ENDS are about $1.75-$2.00 each. I don't recommend spending
the bucks on titanium ball ends, because in years of racing, I've rarely
seen a properly installed ball end break, and the titanium versions don't
save much weight from the steel ones.
Happy Racing,
Barry
