I subscribe to 18 maillists.  The split among these lists is about 
50-50.   They used to almost all be set up so that "Reply" went to the 
originator, and it was necessary to use "Reply All" if you wanted to 
reply to the group.   More and more, they are being set up for "Reply" 
to go only to the group, on the assumption that the reply would be of 
interest to the group.  With Mozilla, you can use "Reply All" and then 
delete whoever.   The "Right click" and select "Compose Mail
To" works, 
but creates a new message, without content from the message you are 
replying to.  If there is anything worse than a message with a string of 
15 messages and 27 "banners" in it, it's a message with NO reference 
that addresses content of a previous message!

Personally, it doesn't matter to me.  There are enough of each type now 
that I have to look before sending, so I can do whatever I want.
