Meanwhile, The Gun-bunny side of me(which is pretty a pretty big bunny with
sharp pointy teeth) loves to playwith the hardware to do JUST that...
create the greatest thing since the last gun-bunny.

But do not fear. I DO enjoy good though-provoking stories as well.   Just Im
better at the hardware aspect of it all.

Essentially correct.  For this reason the Borg in G-Trek swallowed
something they couldn't assimilate (Based on events in "First
Contact") and this destroyed the collective.  The Collective broken,
the Borg ceased to exist.
