Hey Mike.... well first make sure your batteries are fully charged.
Next check to see if your antena wire is exposed to the fullest. If you
have an aluminum chasis (R/C 10) make sure your wire IS NOT touching the
chasis in any way. One more thing, make sure your wire isnt cut. This
can screw thingsup royaly. As for titanium 'buckles, the only reason
you could possibly need them is in a race situatin. I raced for about
three years without them, and never had the need for them. 
As for prices, get a copy of R/C Car Action, there should be a dealer
in there somewhere that has a list of prices.
