I still don't know how Carter got elected ans suspect there was something
wrong with the polling booths in Louisiana.  Johnson was a different story,
having been SotH for many years and already had enough power, so why
Kennedy picked that polecat for a vice president is also a mystery to me. 
The only thing that makes sense is he (Kennedy) needed the south to win.
