DC> If they did, I haven't ran into it... The only thing it woul do is unzip a file. It wouldn't zip one. I always removed it because I would rather open a DOS window or use the complete Windows version. BC> I never upgraded from the 2.04g DOS version to the 2.50 DOS version BC> because I didn't need the upgrades for Win95+. DC> To an extent, that's why I use both! Features include support for Long File Names (LFNs) on Windows 95, 98, and Windows Me. You are no longer limited to DOS 8.3 file names when running PKZIP in a Windows 95/98 or Windows Me command line environment. You can extract, store and view LFNs inside a .ZIP archive without truncating the filename. PKZIP 2.50 for DOS uses the classic PKZIP 2.04g command line syntax, and can be used with existing batch files & scripts with no changes. Additionally, PKZIP 2.50 for DOS increases the file storage limitation in PKZIP 2.04g from 5,000 to over 16,000 files stored in a single .ZIP archive. The ability to store more files in a .ZIP archive is a great benefit to anyone doing backup and restore operations using PKZIP. For the advanced user, PKZIP 2.50 for DOS will use DOS Protected Mode Interface (DPMI) in Windows 95/98, OS/2 and other DPMI supported environments to run 32-bit code for better and faster compression performance. v2.50 can be used with any version of DOS that v2.04g can: System Requirements For DOS 2.0 and greater, Windows 3.1x or Windows 95/98, Windows Me IBM PC or compatible 4 MB RAM 1.2 MB free disk space ___ Blue Wave/386 v2.30 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: BBS Networks {at} www.bbsnets.com 808-839-6036 (1:10/345) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
