BW2.30 uses the .XTI file to store Flags/Marks in. 

If you look in the C:\BWAVE\WORK\ directory before closing the .QWK 
packet, you will find it in there, waiting to be updated into the 
.QWK packet, along with an .INF file. 

This is something BlueWave does, using PKZIP. 

The only difference between DOS & 386 is the amount of RAM that is 
available to each program to open the message packet in, and the 
programing to utilize it.
