If all your CFG and CTL files won't fit on a 1.44 floppy, you're doing
something wrong.  Since that's all you really need to rebuild a Max BBS from
scratch, it's something that you should be in the habit of doing.  (Floppies
are more reliable than a tape in most cases.)
I always keep a copy of the important control files on floppy.  Then I can
just reinstall any software needed, dump the control files back from floppy,
and I'm back to normal quickly.
