Once apon a time Bill Grimsley said, 'Re: Dynalink 1433VQH' to Simon Byrnand...

SB> Have you used your Dynalink with any Class 2.0 Fax software?

 BG> No, Faxworks Pro for OS/2 is Classes 1 & 2 only.

Oh.

SB> I have Cheyenne Bitware 3.30.06 and it picks up mine as a

SB> "Texas Instruments Notebook" modem, and Class 1, at that. If

SB> I force it to Class 2.0, it says "Error initializing the

SB> modem" when I try to run Receive manager. Works fine as Class 1 :-/

BG> Have you tried &H2 in your init string, and/or Recv EOP delay (if

 BG> applicable)?

No I hadnt, but I just tried it, and it didnt help. Still no go :( It seems

that the software is not even TRYING to initialize the modem, its just saying

"Unable to initialize the modem" *immediately* rather than the
normal delay

when it does succeed.

I noticed that if I set the software to Class 2, it DOES succeed in

initializing the modem, but it doesnt work when it actually comes time to

deliver the goods, of course. The only thing I can conclude from that, is

that the software, (Cheyenne Bitware 3.30.06) doesnt REALLY support Class

2.0 yet - the option is there in the settings, but its just a placeholder.

Can anyone with a Courier or Sportster and Bitware 3.30.06 confirm or deny

this???

Regards,

Simon
