Foucault test can be performed in quite a lit room. Ambient light will not
spoil results . There is no need to risk injuries or equipment damage by
insisting on darkness.
Nature of test is such that eye pupil or camera aperture will reject most
of unwanted light to reach retina or film or CCD. It will be fine to hear
other , more experienced voices in support or denial.
