I am late into this thread, so you may have already covered this, but I think
this might be "bigger" than pcmanfm. Like it might be something that you need
to figure out how to do within your desktop environment or even distribution.
In this case, I am guessing gnome on raspbian?
I did some quick duckduckgo searches and the conclusion I drew was that it was
likely a desktop or distro setting, and that it sounded like it could get
pretty complicated. :) I am also curious as to how those applications get
ordered on the menu (especiallly when the default is clearly not the best
choice for that filetype!), but I don't think I want to get as in depth into it
as it sounds like it might take me.
That said, I can easily fix the biggest problem I have by changing the #1
default for the filetype(s) in question. Getting other choices to show up in
the order I would want sounds like a project.
