What a pity that USR's x2 and Rockwell's K56Flex are little more than
interim flash-in-the-pan protocols, both of which will be replaced by
considerably cheaper cable "modems" (line cards) within the next
year or so (and with the added advantage of full duplex 64kbps or 128kbps
speeds, not this silly one-way 56k thing).  This is one piece of passing
fad technology in which I have no interest whatsoever in
"investing"...
