Transitioning from the fairly standardized (for MS) Control Panel to
whatever the distro happens to provide...

Device Manager is one of the best tools that MS ever created (which must be
why it keeps getting pushed back deeper into the levels, so you have to
figure out where to chase it down with each new version)

Video config has stayed fairly standard - and reasonably commonsense and
straightforward - since Win95.
