subject: Env. variables

The next release of Max and Squish will know where to find their
configuration files "by default" based on the PREFIX variable set
at config/compile time.

Theoretically speaking, the MAXIMUS and SQUISH environment variables should
work the way they used to. This is, however, an untested feature. I
normally run max from /var/max as "bin/max", and call squish with
-c/var/max/etc/squish.cfg (yes, scott doesn't allow spaces between his
options and their arguments -- it's on the todo list)

Oh! The patches for the "next version" fix of this MIGHT have
made it CVS already. If you're handy with SourceForge, view the change logs
since the Maximus3_03b release and figure it out.

If they haven't made it yet, they won't make it until I fix a few other
major bugs I've introduced; I don't want to upload completely untested
code.

Wes
