Hey andrew! Jun 29 13:02 06, andrew clarke wrote to Maurice Kinal: ac> Looks like you need to cross-compile from an ordinary Linux box. I've never been able to make that work for 16-bit. Mind you I don't haven anything to try it on if I did manage to get a 16-bit capable gcc crosscompiler 'working' so how would I know? What I do know about many of those devices is that there is a telnet client for them so they could potentially connect to a more capable system and not worry about compiling anything for 16-bit. I used to connect to a 64-bit mainframe from a 386, which had a better monitor then the dumb terminals connected to the mainframe, and run jobs that way. The information sent to the 386 monitor worked out fine given that endianness and 64-bit were never a factor even though they potentially were. Funny how that all works out when you completely ignore it. Good thing there were no Fido sysops on the network to screw it up. :-) Life is good, Maurice --- Msged/LNX 6.2.0* Origin: The Pointy Stick Society XVII - When I was ...
