subject: Australian USR Courier x2 upgrades

-= Pete Replied to Bill Grimsley about: Australian USR Courier x2 upgrades =-

G'day Bill

RB> Outside this period, the upgrade will cost $50
 RB> (includes $15 shipping & handling)
 BG> [ ... ]
RB> Modems upgraded onsite at USRobotics Pty Ltd
 RB> 473 - 479 Victoria Street West Melbourne 3003

DD> Well, that stuffs that. What do I use while my modem is in
DD> Melbourne. Didn't I post the registration form back???

BG> I'm rather more curious as to why USR Australia physically
BG> require the modem for the x2 upgrade, when it's nothing more
BG> than an addition to ALL future SDLs, but activated by an encoded
BG> "key". Perhaps it's simply a blatant attempt to justify the
BG> exorbitant $50 fee? Oh well, nice work if you can get it...

Thing is will all future SDL's be kept in house and only installed in
modems on there return to USR Aust HQ, Maybe this SDL is the last SDL
we'll ever need ;-)

     Pete.
