subject: how do I find...

Try:
www.zdnet.com/pccomp/freestuff/
www.download.com
There are many others!
... also try:
http://ftpsearch.ntnu.no/
... the http:// needs to be on this one or it will try their ftp site
directly instead of their website. Also note that on this site you can search
with partial search patterns, but wild cards don't seem to work. If you were
looking for fd202.arj, searching for:
fd2
... would find it and any others beginning with those 3 characters just as if
you had asked for:
fd2*.*
Note that if you search for:
fd2.zip
... you would get some thing like (partial):
"Case insensitive substring search" for "fd2.zip"
33.2K 1997 Jan 3 ftp.bns.getronics.nl /pub/os/sinclair/games/f/FD2.ZIP
361.6K 1997 Oct 31 ftp.multiverse.com /users/jtw/cfd2.zip
48.4K 1997 Jun 20 asu.nips.nsc.ru /pub/fileecho/adevida/efd2.zip
177.0K 1997 Jan 4 ftp.is.co.za
.5/games/id/levels/doom2/a-c/cofd2.zip
177.0K 1997 Jan 4 ftp.cdrom.com /.5/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/cofd2.zip
FTPSearch woks great if you already have a partial filename that you are
looking for.
Hope this helps!
Later...
