If it's loaded too low, definitely.

Not that, so much as speakers wired in series. If you're going to add
multiple speakers (as opposed to drivers) beyond the point where wiring them
in parallel would produce too low a load, then you must use a parallel/series
configuration. This works fairly well with multiple DRIVERS (who remembers
the Sweet Sixteen? :) but the crossovers can do really weird things if you
try it with multiple SPEAKERS (depending somewhat on speaker and crossover
design, of course).
