It cannot.
It seems that Golded is a wee complex and needs changes all over the place.
A recent remark talked about chances on MSSGed supporting UTF were better,
allbeit only for the linux version.
Up till now I have fair results with a prototype using Python3 and TkInter.
I use the "chardet" library with some corrections to define the encoding of
incoming messages, as the CHAR kludges is often missing or does not
correspond with the encoding of the message.
When I recently installed Mbsee on a raspberry, it struck me that a telnet
user of the bbs can choose the language and encoding to match the environment
of the user. UTF-8 was one of the options. I have not got a round Tuit to
fully install the mbse and connected it to fido echo's. Maybe others can
elaborate on this option in Mbse.
