The aluminum radiators that appeal to performance enthusiasts have
aluminum tanks too. The weight savings over a 1979 factory radiator (brass
core and tanks) v an Aluminum radiator raised the front of my 79 Malbu by
nearly an inch...not to mention that the aluminum radiator dissapates heat
faster. I also kept the factory (plastic) shroud, but replaced the heavy
clutch fan with an aluminum flex fan, which pulls more air at street
speeds, but flattens out at high RPM racing speeds.
