there's a good possibility that the answer is no... scanning engines get
updated over time and with those updates come virus definitions that
require the updated engine... if you use an engine that's too old it may
not be able to detect all the viruses you have listed in the
datafiles...

well, didn't thdpro work with f-prot aswell? f-prot for does is still
being supported and updated...
