-=> Quoting Patti Jones to Robin Arnhold <=-
Hi, Patti,
PJ> Too many young people have forgotten that their parents gave them
PJ> the very essence of life, and to turn their back on them is regretful.
PJ> My parents aren't the most joyous people to be around, no were they
PJ> the best of parents, but then who determines what is the best. They
PJ> did the best they could with the information they had available at the
PJ> time.....so bygones are bygones.
Indeed. When I'm inclined to dwell too much on the mistakes my mother
made raising me, I remind myself that my mother acted in good faith
toward me. Nobody can give you what they don't have, and since my mother
was a battered child, there were aspects of parenting she was never
exposed to. Besides, nobody's perfect; otherwise, there'd be no market
for erasers.
PJ> Glad to know your Mom is doing
PJ> better all the time....sounds to me like she has a good doctor to care
PJ> for her, and a daughter that is there to keep watch.
Most of all I am grateful for the neighbors who do little things like
bringing in her mail and taking out the garbage and especially the
visiting nurses who keep an eye on her when I'm not around.
Hope you are getting spring in your part of the world. It's still a bit
iffy around here.
Take care,
Robin
