Well, you got the time progression exactly backwards ... (7:00pm Eastern
would be 4:00pm Pacific, for instance) ...and no it's not sent at
"10:00pm in every timezone".
We here in Central get most things '1 hour earlier' than in Eastern. The traditional
'Evening News' times are at 6:00 and 10:00, rather than 7:00 and 11:00.
Leno/Letterman start at 10:30 rather than 11:30 as in Eastern. "Prime
Time" is 7-10
rather than 8-11. 1:00pm Eastern Time football games start here at Noon.
"Monday
Night Football" starts at 4:00pm in Honolulu... The only exceptions I
can actually think of to this are the network 'morning news'
programs.. Today Show/Good Morning America...which are tape-delayed an hour.
I remember 'back in the day' before Good Morning America existed that we actually saw
"The Today Show" backwards...we had the 2nd hour live (Eastern
8-9/Central 7-8) and
after that was shown the "7:00 Eastern Time Segment"...two hours
later at our 8:00.
So, as I was saying, I know that something advertised nationally as being
broadcast at
"10:00pm, Eastern and Pacific" will be at 9:00pm here in Texas.
There will obviously be a different satellite feed or something to have it
broadcast at
10:00 in Pacific Time also..since that is 3 hours later than the
Eastern/Central time feed.
I was wondering if they do a 'different' satellite feed for Mountain time as
well, to feed
them at 10:00pm also...or would they use the 'Eastern' feed and get the
show at 8:00pm
Mountain...or would they used the 'Pacific' feed and get it at 11:00pm
Mountain? Or do
the local stations tape-delay the 'Eastern Feed' and show it when they want to?
