You're probably right there.

I highly doubt he misused anything. He came up with a better way, and went with
it. The MSGID is still compatible, and doesn't "violate" anything.

Why is it some feel like they need to restrict developers from advancing
anything? Standards and proposals were created in the past using this exact
same idealogy, yet now both you and Michiel seem to think that developers can
not do that any more?

Something is seriously wrong with that.
