subject: port 24555 node question

Hello All.

ML> My binkd is running at port 24554 but 2 nodes I connect with use
ML> 24555. My NODES.CFG for those looks like this:

 ML> node 1:261/38 filegate.net:24555 xxxxxxxx
 ML> node 1:320/219 bnbbbs.net:24555 xxxxxxxxx

ML> Will that or will that not work?

AL> That should work just fine.

I tried it... But on my system running OS/2 it wouldn't send... So I did a little "brainstorming" and ran a separate instance of binkd with the oport in inports set to 24555 and a separate nodes.cfg with only those 2 nodes in it. Ran okay ONCE and sent the waiting stuff to 261/38 - - but after that both instances stopped responding to anything. Maybe is just something crazy on that machine, but I tried it again with the same result; both instances wouldn't respond to anything inbound or outbound...

A little more "brainstorming" and I moved the 24555 server/client to a different machine. Since both machines have identical drive mappings it seems to be working, at least for the time being. I still have a learning curve to continue climbing.

If anyone has any relative observations on this, I'm ready to listen and work on it as required to make this run dependably.

Best regards,
Marc
