you prefer MIDI?? they're small... i even have some very small and primitive
tunes that use the system speaker by generating frequencies of certain
durations for each note... one freq at a time... no cords or similar multiple
tones... we use(d) them on our old-school DOS BBSes which are still in
operation over telnet these days... some still offer dialup but they are few
and far between...
