Oh, now I understand.  I know of nothing that really solves your needs 
properly that is accessable from Word Basic. I think it would take some C 
programming routines hooked in via a .WLL file to accomplish this. Short of 
that, you're only left with the document variables, which are stored 
invisibly in the document itself or the single clipboard. Unfortunately, 
document variables don't store all the formatting information transparently 
like the clipboard does.
