-=> Quoting Sondra Ball to Robin Arnhold <=-
Hi, Sondra,
SB> It's early spring here -- really and truly. The forsythia are about
SB> to bloom. The grass is greening. The crocuses have come and mostly
SB> gone. And the first daffodils have bloomed.
We've had a week of spring here so far. While the northeast was getting
dumped on by Mother Nature's April Fool's joke, it was very nice here and
the temperatures were even above normal. The grass turned green, a
few trees were starting to put out tiny little leaves, the golfers
reappeared on the golf course behind where I work, the daffodils in front
of work were getting ready to bloom, the crocuses in the front yard were
blooming. Then, kaboom! It was cool and rainy last Saturday, but Sunday
we got this terrible, cold wind that lasted for three days. I think half
the shingles in Wisconsin must have landed in Michigan. Yesterday
evening we had a little snow and this evening heavy snow--they're talking
seven inches, but I think (hope) we'll get off with maybe 3 or 4 inches.
What a turn-around! There is also some flooding along rivers and streams
north of here, but nothing like western Minnesota and the Dakotas.
SB> I understand that type of surgery is generally pretty successful.
I know Mother will be glad to hear that.
SB> All the choices of losing a parent are painful. I've been there both
SB> ways, too.
Indeed, that is so very true. And now Mother is the last of her
generation left in the family--her last remaining cousin passed away
March 29.
Take care,
Robin
