Hi Dean,
that is correct. Here in europe you can buy a commercial product called 
"Video Driver Patch", price is 17 DM (or $12) plus s&h.
The patch disk contains a manual, the patch program itself, a sample graphic 
(256c) and an early beta-driver from Geoworks. The beta driver is part of 
this product with permission by Geoworks.
Everything - manual and patch - is completly in german language.
Running the DOS patch program, the beta-driver on disk will be patched, then 
copied to the correct directory into your \Geos20 installation. Due to legal 
reasons the patch program is necessary, not the patched driver itself.
The patched 256 color video driver has some advantages against the original 
one from Geoworks itself:
- usable on very most VESA compatible graphics cards,
- usable usually in all 3 SVGA resolutions !
Even if Geoworks' vesatest.exe says, the Geoworks video driver only supports 
1024 x 768, the patched driver will mostly be usable in all 3 resolutions.
I don't know if the author, Falk Rehwagen, has any plans to translate this 
disk. If he'll do it, I'm certain it's no problem to find an american 
distributor for it.... :)
Anyway, if you have no problems with a german DOS program, you can order this 
disk directly from the Geos User Club in germany. Order infos by e-mail, or 
check our home page (with many infos, files and links around PC/Geos)! :)
