Re: Re: trying again By: Nancy Backus to Damon A. Getsman on Sat Apr 25 2015 17:03:50 NB> At least the basket the eggs landed in seems to be the more dependable NB> one. One does wonder how well the airport location will do, with that NB> sort of sloppy management... I'm wondering that more than a bit myself. I mean I've seen some pretty crappy locations with less overhead flounder and fail because of management that was a few levels better than what was going on at this place... I was really starting to wonder (along with the corporate people in the training team-- there was serious open dissent there about him) how he even got hired in the first place. I mean scheduling seems like one of the most basal and necessary skills for that work... Anyway I'm interested in knowing what happens to it, but then again, without a job at that airport I'll probably never really know unless somebody tells me that it closes. My guess is that he'll get fired as manager before that, though. Maybe sooner, rather than later, if I ever get that email written. Not that it'll have as much effect now that I've taken weeks off from writing it to de-angst from the situation, first. NB> Just have to encourage him to do his own work... and try not to do it NB> for him. :) That is a tough one for me. When I'm trying to help him with things he really does all he can to milk everything out of me. I know was that that can be helped, though. The situation makes it a little bit difficult, but it's getting better now that he's in "Cranium Club" after school which gives him time and trained teachers aides to help out with the homework. :) He's a lot happier coming home with plenty of time to do his own stuff now instead of having that to deal with upon release from the dungeons. heh. NB> Speaking of which, have you gotten any pay from that foodservice job...? I got one paycheck, which helped for a bit. I'm not sure, they may have a little bit there more waiting for me, but if so it's miniscule enough so that it won't make much of a difference in the current situation, so I'll probably just wait for them to mail it out, instead of putting more miles on my dying vehicle and burning up just as much in gas. NB> Sounds like it's someone you can learn from, too... working together on NB> a project can hone everyone's brains... :) Yeah there've been some blockers on it in the past week, but it looks like things are getting up to speed again. I'm doing what I can to keep my iron in the fire on that one. NB> When there's lots to say, there's lots to say, after all... That reminds me of a time when... Nah, just kidding. ;) NB> If one has to impart a lot of information, written communication works NB> well... But when one needs to get information, and it might require a NB> series of questions/answers in order to get it, phone or face-to-face NB> works best... at least for me... :) Especially if there's any urgency NB> in getting the info.. :) That's pretty much how it works for me, too. NB> Well, I've been back for a week now, and still not quite caught up... NB> but that's pretty much what I expected... I just plod along, and do NB> what I can, with what time I have... ;) Might get all my Fido caught up NB> today, but that remains to be seen... Heh. Yeah I'm very slowly catching up in areas, too. I know I've got at least one fellow waiting for me on some promises to work on fido stuff that is probably stuck in his craw a bit. Well, probably not, pretty amicable dude, but I wouldn't begrudge him if it were so. I've had so many irons in the fire that it's been tough to prioritize and keep up on everything when I'm exhausted from all the stuff before right now. -D --- SBBSecho 2.27-OpenBSD* Origin: Tinfoil.synchro.net - now at FTN (1:340/200) (1:340/200) SEEN-BY: 19/33 34/999 90/1 116/18 120/331 123/500 128/187 135/364 140/1 SEEN-BY: 218/700 222/2 226/0 160 230/150 249/303 261/38 100 266/404 267/155 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 282/1031 1056 292/907 908 320/119 340/400 396/45 633/0 267 SEEN-BY: 633/280 281 408 640/384 712/620 848 770/1 801/161 @PATH: 340/200 400 261/38 712/848 633/280 267 |
