Bruce, somebody has licked this F/M aggravation.

 BC> If you look in the C:\BWAVE\WORK\ directory before closing the .QWK 
 BC> packet, you will find it in there, waiting to be updated into the 
 BC> .QWK packet, along with an .INF file. 
 
 JP> Wait one.  Back.  None there to be seen. I did a "Search"
 JP> yesterday for a *.xti file and none was found.

        I was getting out of BW completely before. I got out now via
  the minimise command and then looked at the WORK folder and sure
  enough .xti is there with quite a few more files.

 BC> Once you close the message packet the WORK directory is empty. 
 BC> The .XTI file has supposedly been updated into the .QWK packet. 

        You sure know what side UP is. I am learning as I go.
