LD> A Hayes Accura 336 has been suggested as a birthday present LD> to me from the Family. At the moment there is installed on my LD> computer and Internal 14400 (this has given not the slightest LD> trouble over the last two years). My query, Is it possible LD> to install the new modem whilst still leaving the old internal LD> in the system. Com 2 is occupied by the Internal Modem. If Com 1 is currently available, _and_ you have a high speed (16550 or equivalent) UART on it, you shouldn't have the slightest problem. It's not evident whether or not you currently have a hardware com card or not - you must to use an external modem. Further fly in the possibilities - if you're using Com1 for a mouse, Com3 and Com4 tend to be rather nasty to work with, courtesy of MickySoft's machinations. LD> Any help or information offered would be most appreciated. More information please, and no doubt you'll get several more, and more detailed, bits of advice.
