Well, sort of tongue in cheek here, if there is the big united world
conspiracy, or just a government conspiracy with this issue, than they
could have had her killed and either not recorded the "aircraft accident"
or killed her via some other method and simply had the aircraft
accident story relayed to Dennis as they knew no record of such an
incident would be found as it never occurred. Or it could be that
they gave her a new identity or did something else and fabricated
this story knowing that it wouldn't pan out and make Dennis or anyone
claiming to have known her look like liars.
I must say most of the inconsistancies in this case are pretty
damning. I can give some leeway for memory laspes over 40 and 50
years but there are some here which aren't covered by such explanations.

Well I have had a safe deposit box and the length of protection it
gives to your stuff in a lot of banks is really sad. There are many
safe deposit boxes that you could get into if you just know the
name of the person and have a duplicate key. There are a few banks
where I was never asked for any ID or even checked by ANY means.
Basically if the government wanted your items or any material storing
it in a safe deposit box is no better than anything else. What
can be hidden can be found whether accidentally by someone in your
home or someone just out and out thrashing the place seeking something
out.

Well there are many explanations for this. First this alien looked
like LOTS of aliens he's seen in media since 1947 so the image would
have been reinforced in his mind, it also must have struck him as
unique and important in 1947 and stuck with him, and it's not that
detailed. Of course it could just be he drew what everyone WANTS to
see these days which is your stock Grey alien with one or two minor
alterations allowed.
