MS> I'm in need of recommendations for a backup power supply that would

I use a size 27 deep cycle RV/Marine battery with a 2 amp charger
to keep it topped up. This also powers the UHF business radio
during power outages. It draws 10 amps while transmitting.
Battery is in a plastic battery houseing like for use in boat.
Lots of ventilation to prevent hydrogen buold up. Radio Shack
multiple 12V outlet units for plugging in cigarette lighter
adapters. High amp items wired (fused) directly to battery.
Battery charger has a lightr adapter in place of clamps so
it can be plugged in one of the outlets, when used to peak
up battery, about once a week, when not being used and
immediately after power comes back on, or while generator
is being used to power something else during prolonged
outages.
