Jim,

This sounds like a windows problem rather than a novell one. It could be
something to do with spooled print settings. To check/fix - go into Start,
Settings, Printers and highlight the offending printer, then right click and
choose properties. Click the Details tab and then port settings. Ensure
"spool MSDOS print jobs" is currently unticked. This should solve your
problem providing it is not a novell print queue, you are referring to.

If it is a novell queue (are you using client32?) you must set auto endcap
on, with a 15secs timeout. This is because when you are in dos you have
captured the printer port (LPT1: usually) and when you print, it doesn't
automatically release the capture from windows, hence the machine locks and
won't print. Setting a timeout of between 10 and 15 secs should be long
enough if their are any print delays in your files.

Hope this helps... If not feel free to email me @... aconneran@csi.com with
some more info, as I am unlikely to come back to this newsgroup after
today - I was merely here to demonstrate newsgroups to a customer of mine.

Bye for now,

ANDY.
