| subject: | MODEMS FOR A BBS |
Hi George, GD> I own and operate the KTX 33.6 and have had no hassles at all GD> with it at all. Good reliable connects everytime as well. I used to GD> have a KTX 28,8 before but upgraded to the 33.6. I have found it to be GD> really good, excellent cps rates, good connects what more do you want GD> from a good cheap reliable modem. Yep if they bring out a 56k modem GD> soon i'd buy that as well George Oh, that's interesting. I had a fiddle with my friend's KTX 33600, and it was the biggest pain in the arse. It wouldn't connect any higher than 28800, but that could be the lines. I had to make a completely new init string so we could play Doom 2, it dropped out on a BBS connection, slowed from 3300cps to 2400cps which my modem never does, and it states that it features a "Full AT Hayes Command Set". None of my AT commands worked. :( Alex ...
