subject: To C Or Not To C

PE> CW> Just wondering what your thoughts about teaching Year 12 students a
PE> CW> particular language? My thoughts are either Pascal or C etc.
PE> CW> People have told me Pascal is the learning language, but I have read th
PE> CW> C is possible a better one to learn. Please reply? Or anyone else?

PE>Start with Pascal in preference to C, DEFINITELY. You might want to conside
PE>using Modula-2 instead of Pascal. Others may suggest
PE>starting with an object-oriented language, but nothing
PE>useful springs to mind. I'd suggest sticking with Pascal
PE>rather than leading the revolution in alternative training
PE>methods. BFN.

Sincere apologies for my comment in another msg that you might suggest
C. As a minor quibble, Pascal (in the Borland 5.5+ versions, TP for
Windows or Borland Pascal 7 if you want to do Windows) *is*
object-oriented. FIM.
