-> ooo...a scanner. I'm jealous. I certainly would like to
-> be able to do my own scanning. I've been processing my film at a
rugstore
-> outfit called PayLess here. They send the film in to a
-> Konica lab that will scan the pics in as or before they finish
-> processing them. It's rather handy and the price is right
-> (comparatively). The problem is that something about their scan leaves
he
-> pictures inordinately dark and too...oh...I would say 'green'.
MM> Sounds like they have the color balance screwed up.
'twas my thought, but I'm not sure exactly how. They
(PayLess) tell me they (Konica) don't scan in developed photos,
they (Konica) have some process that they use before they finish
processing the film. Never run across that before. The photo
shops I've talked to want $10 a pic...I just don't have any that
are _that_ good of the big guy.
Since I'm not what you would call a 'crack' photographer,
the pictures don't always come out as I see them in my mind's eye
(especially the horse ones). Sometimes I luck out and get really
super shots...other times...welllll...
-> there's one of the fAtman that is fairly representative.
MM> Well I would like to take a look if you want to send them my
MM> way. Or I can freq them if you can set that up with your
MM> sysop.
hmmm...I do think I have your email somewhere if I just
remember where I put it. Failing that, I'll drop a note to Craig
to see if he'd be kind enough to netmail it out for me...
Failing that, we'll see if he will put it up for FReq...which I
think is pretty likely. ...or...I could put it up for FTP
(or can you do that???). eh...We'll find a way.
Can you 'read' .kqp files? If so, I'll send one of them
original format zipped with adjusted image. Maybe it's me...and
maybe it's my monitor...
MM> Yeah I am sure I would get more replies than I need actually.
MM> I will do that before I open it to the general public and add
MM> it to some search sites. You just got a sneak preview.
oh...I get it...kinda like a sneak preview...
...but you said that, huh.?. >>
wehlllll...ahEm.!. In that case, let me suggest that you
find a way to 'view' it with more than one browser...and that you
remember that not everyone has a 1024x monitor.
yesyes...and everyone's a critic, eh.?. >>
