It could be Jam ... or even msg.  Come to think of it msg might be the best for
testing purposes.

Depends on how you define BBS.  Thinking back to the original VAX/VMS BBS I
first encountered way back when mine isn't too much different given that
menuing is very similar (very simple).

Mind you the linux terminal is vastly more powerful then any terminal I've run
across way back then.
