Sept 11 might have been a shock, but in Europe WWII meant having the equivalent of Sept 11 every day for months on end - without the peace to be able to clean up the rubble and mourn the dead before the next bombing run, and with all the lights out all the time every single night. Some of us were born into that, some into the recovery from that. My earliest memories revolve around my family trying to find missing members of the family, and often times the lucky ones were the ones who had simply been shot. This was playing out against the backdrop of the realisation of what the Atomic Bomb was, and the Korean War going on. >>> which is WRONG, dammit >>> you have enough on your plate >> >>Yes; but if they're not getting it at home, they have to get it >>somewhere. > >Make parents take courses and get licensed, for cryin' out loud! > All pre-fertile adolescents should have inert plugs inserted in their fallopian tubes and vas deferens, so that the only way to have a child is for both partners to have the plugs removed. No more accidental pregnancies, no more pregnancies where only one partner wanted a child. It could be taken to another level where people have to get a licence to have their plugs removed. > >> > there are responsibilities that go along with that.
