Have you properly set up the hard drive to be recognized by the
CMOS / BIOS on the machine.....or does it auto-detect new hardware?
Does the machine support the larger hard drive's size...some older
machines have limitations to BLOCK sizes 1024 or less and others
require LBA mode to support anything over 528MB.
Check these things first.
Try booting the box with a plain old bootable dos floppy and see if you
can even read the HD.....
Try posting your equipment configuration....age of machine, amt of RAM,
speed of CPU, controller cards (SCSI, IDE, PCI, Etc.), version of BIOS,
anything that may be pertinent.
